GNSS Analysis at Dionysos Satellite Observatory

Global Navigation Satellite Systems

Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) are satellite systems to provide autonomous geo-spatial positioning providing global coverage. Suchs systems are:

GNSS Processing at DSO

The Past

Dionysos Satellite Observatory has been actively involved in GPS campaigns and processing since the mid 90's

The Present

Dionysos Satellite Observatory (DSO) of the National Technical University of Athens has developed an automated processing scheme to accommodate the daily analysis af all available continuous GNSS stations in Greece. This daily analysis process is implemented for the last five years, yielding results which help us further understand the complicated tectonic settings of Greece. Additionaly, analysis results are contributed to EUREF's Densification Project aiming to produce a dense European velocity field.

GNSS Processing dataset

At DSO we devide GNSS sites in different networks to make the processing scheme more efficient, robust and quick. We have a number of dofferent networks:

  • CRLab : CRLab's local network of continuous GPS/GNSS stations placed on and around Corinth Rift, GR
  • EPN : EUREF's European Permanent Network (EPN) of continuous GPS/GNSS stations
  • GREECE : NTUA's network of continuous GPS/GNSS stations routinely processed
  • NOANET : NOA's network of GPS/GNSS continuous stations
  • SANTORINI : NTUA's local network of continuous GPS/GNSS stations placed on Santorini island
