Overview
Greece is a network of continuous GPS receivers installed by various institutes and unviversities throughout Greece. The first such station to be established was DION (Dionysos) station, placed in Dionysos, Attica by the National Technical University of Athens in 1995. Since then, many institutes either local or from abroad have installed receivers mainly to monitor the fierce crustal deformation experienced within the region. A big part of this network, is being upgraded and maintained by the Institute of Geodynamics of the National Observatory of Athens, which collects and published freely its data.
